Mama Mia!

 Oia (pronounced eeyah)
Yassas!  That is hello in Greek!  We have landed on the place that all those postcards are shot.  For those ABBA fans who watched Mama Mia, this is where it was shot!  So beautiful!  We took lots of pictures, buckle up and hang on!  You might want to get a cup of tea or something, because this may take awhile.
We started our adventure on Oia by getting coffee and tea at this cafe overlooking this!
Then we began to walk around enjoying all the sights we could see.

These Oleander trees are everywhere and astonishingly beautiful, each one.

Isn't he a cute doggy?!

Then we traveled to a winery.  They are extremely proud of their wines.  They state that the difference is how they grow their grapes.  They grow them close to the ground.  They do not water their vineyards, because they are so close to the ground, they lap up the morning dew each day.  The volcanic soil also gives them their special taste.  I do know that the grapes are fantastic.

Then we traveled on to the other side of the island of Santorini, where the donkeys and cabe cars are.  For this side of the island, the only way to the town is to either walk up, take a cable car, or donkey.

I left Roger on this beautiful island alone because I had a headache.  Too much wonderfulness, I think!  Anyway, he continued walking around this glorious place and took lots of pictures to show me what I missed.  He is so kind.

Now I took the cable car down the mountain, but by the time Roger got there the line was quite long, so he decided to walk.  He said he was very glad he did because it was quite scenic and entertaining.

They are quite cute.  Would have enjoyed riding them!

Now, don't they look like they are having fun?

A shot of the cable cars that I rode down, probably about an hour earlier than this picture was shot.

A rest stop for the weary traveler.  Probably more for those going up than the ones going down.

I was really regretting not walking with Roger when he showed me these pictures of this little guy.  Is he not precious??  His name is Poupas and he runs the cafe along with his owner!

Here he is licking Roger's hand.  Hard to resist the little guy!

This is the port where everyone waits on a tendering boat to take them to their ship.

The tendering boats.

Shots of Santorini as he rides away.

When Roger got back on the boat, he decided to take a nap on the lawn, in a hammock!

Last shots of Santorini!
